PopPapa is a blog for dads who want to stay relevant. What does that mean? Between work and family responsibilities, I’ve noticed that many of my friends, peers and colleagues who are fathers have slowly lost touch with their adventurous spirit, their love of the new, the interesting – and find it hard to keep up with many of their original passions – such as music, art, books, cooking, movies and other facets of culture.
It’s not about trying to be cooler than your kids. It’s not about being hip. It’s about being aware of what’s going on. It’s about keeping up with the world.
Despite how we are depicted in the media – as dopey knuckle-heads, slumping around the house with our fingers up our nose or our hands down our pants (which is hard to resist sometimes…), many of us, most of us – are still interested in subjects beyond work, sports and beer. But it’s hard to make the time to pursue those interests.
PopPapa will be successful if dads (and anyone else for that matter) find new, interesting and unique ideas that they can take home and share with their families.

Interesting idea, Roland – but I don’t think I’ve ever been relevant so I don’t know if you can help me 😉
